I am so happy to be film another “Paint with me”, it brings me so much joy.
✦ I drew an endangered orchid sketch for a botanical art group I joined last year. They had an amazing exhibition for all the endangered plants in Victoria, Australia. For botanical illustration, the plant has to be scientifically accurate, but for botanical art, you can be a bit more creative - I often accidentally create new species (not great for botanical illustrations but I lean more towards the botanical art side).
✦ The tulip was inspired by old engravings from the 1700s, which I found in an online archive.
✦ My favourite flower is the nasturtium, I have decided. I have such fond memories of picking nasturtium seeds in my grandmothers garden as a child. I love the twisty vines and watching the water slide off of the leaves.
